I plan to attend - but it's a bit far off just yet to plan for sure. We have a big software changing for our main retail website going live that Monday and we might be camping out at the office that weekend.
The Toys for Tots Parade is always the first Sunday of December. ( 12-06-09) Leaves the Dan Ryan Woods and travels North up Western ave in Chicago. Hundreds of riders ride to donate toys at the USMC on Foster Ave. The ride ends this year at Lane Tech H.S.
They decorate their bikes and Santa leads the parade. It is always quite the event. Last year it was -7 but still had a phenomenal turn out. If your not brave enought to ride drive down and donate a toy. No Stuffed animals. http://chicagolandtft.org/mainevent.htm
Jonny Volk our Illinois Regional Coordinator is in charge of this mission. Contact him and he'll give you specifics on line up and formation for parade support. I know most are patched RR's and have bike logos but we are working on yellow RR arm band designation for the parade as well per request by the security that willl be at the Dan Ryan woods for identification.
I'm not sure but I think bike will be put away by then. may attend the one this weekend if it gets warm enough. I'm a fair-weather rider with not enough cold weather gear yet. so maybe next year.
