I would be looking to leave the chicagoland area on either the afternoon of the 6th or before the sun rise on the morning on the 7th.

The dates for the Sturgis rally are August 9-15. Typically the weekend before (Aug 7-8) is when many of the activities kick off. I am debating on going out early this year and departing on the 9th or 10th. Anybody interested in going early?

I bought a new Ultra end of May and already have 10,000 miles. I like to take long trips. I am definitely interested in going to Sturgis with a group. I will watch for more information. Thanks.
